I had a wonderful time playing with British jazz icon Julian Joseph and his trio in Chester. I first met Julian back in 2009 when he chaired the panel which awarded me BBC Radio Scotland Young Jazz Musician of the Year. Since then i’ve guested in his trio a couple of times, each occasion being a moment of real learning for me. He’s also helped guide me through various projects I needed some help with, as well as being someone who has a passion for nurturing you jazz talent at his weekly jazz academy in London.
