It was a busy couple of weeks, starting off by playing at the Queens Hall with Alan Benzie Trio. It was part of Tommy Smith’s curation of the jazz programme there. It was quite a unique challenge performing completely acoustically but was really fun, and a great initiative to get jazz out into a different performance space.
Then I flew to Belgrade for the first time with Henry Spencer & Juncture. It was a great festival and we were sharing the billing with Steve Coleman which was amazing. He is a unique voice in the music, and it was a real pleasure to see his set.
